How to Beat Puffer Fish

The Puffer Fish rolls slowly along straight lines. People die in the open sandy areas — tree trunks interrupt its rolling path and create shooting windows, so terrain, not gun quality, decides the fight.

When its health drops to about half, it grows larger and leaves purple venom behind. The venom does extremely high continuous damage and must be avoided outright.

💡 Patch 1.0.4 weakened the Puffer Fish, but the venom phase still punishes careless positioning.

Standing still or running long straight lines across open sand wastes the white escape bar; it must die before the bar empties or you re-earn a Carrot from scratch.

Strongly prefer long-range weapons: an SMG with extended magazine/compensator, or an upgraded shotgun. Eat to full health and carry healing — Patch 1.0.4 toned the fight down but it still bites.

• Run to the palm tree area immediately and keep a trunk between you and the puffer fish.
• When it charges, circle around the tree to block or change its path.
• When it turns or repositions, stop and shoot — then keep moving again.
• Fire 2 shotgun rounds, run to the opposite side to force it to turn and chase, switch angles and shoot again.
• At half health it grows and drops purple venom: keep using the tree as cover, widen your movement range and never touch the venom.

💡 Distance is more important than the expensive gun — and do not get pushed onto the rocks.
