Voxel Fish - How to Catch & Location

The Voxel Fish is documented as an Island 4 (Rocks) creature. Regular creatures are not strictly bound to one island — the correct lure plus rod opens the pool, and the Rocks area is where that pool is recommended to be fished.

Use the regular Fishing Rod with a Professional Lure. The Voxel Fish shares the Professional Lure pool with the Bass, Eel, Red Snapper, Sengarat, Halibut, Tigerfish, Flying Fish, Parrotfish and Dripper — all ten documented Island 4 regulars.

AllThings.How writes "Voxel Fish" (two words) while Destructoid writes "Voxelfish" (one word). Both refer to the same Island 4 creature; this site uses the AllThings.How spelling and records the single-word form as an alias.

Like every creature in the game, the Voxel Fish has a rare Drip variant. Drip creatures are named in rainbow text instead of white — impossible to miss once one is on the line — and they come out of exactly the same pool: the same Professional Lure, the same Fishing Rod, the same Island 4 waters. Nothing about your setup changes; you simply keep fishing until the random roll lands.

• Community reports put the Drip spawn chance for regular creatures at roughly 10% (unofficial — treat as a guideline, not a promise).
• The catch only counts toward achievements if you kill the Drip creature — reeling it in alive does not.
• Drip and regular versions are tracked separately: the Collector achievement wants the common creatures, the Fishipedia achievement wants the Drip set. Catching one never fills the other's slot.

💡 Hunting the Drip Voxel Fish is a natural endgame activity — by Island 4 you already own the right rod and lure, so it costs nothing but patience.

Destructoid notes that every fish species — the Voxel Fish included — can technically be caught with dynamite. The catch: blasting significantly lowers the value of the catch and makes the result far more random than rod-and-lure fishing. As an income or collection strategy it is strictly worse than the proper setup above; keep dynamite for clearing schools of cheap fish or softening a boss, not for filling the Fishipedia.
